Chancellor Angela Merkel, Voice of Reason

At last somebody had the guts to say it. Thank God we still have some people in the world willing to face the truth and not kowtow to the spineless whiners. Bravo German chancellor Angela Merkel. Let the Marines chime in with the OORAH! If Obama got the Nobel prize for doing nothing, let Angela Merkel get one for every year she is in office.

She went on to say, “We kidded ourselves for a while, but now it was clear that the attempt to build a society where people of very different languages and cultures could “live side-by-side” and “enjoy each other” has “failed, utterly failed.

Her video is here:

In the past everyone that came to America would assimilate into the culture as everyone else in the world. Everyone learned the language of the country they were in. You became part of the culture. When I lived in Russia I learned Russian and did not expect to change the world around me. I can only imagine what would happen if I yelled, “Russian football is for wimps! American football is for real men!” Yeah, that would bring me peace on earth.

In the 70’s it slowly began to change to the insanity America has now. The worst is today where some Mexicans demand that Spanish be spoken. There was a restaurant owner who even had a sign “English Only”. They tried to complain but he reminded them that if they wanted only Spanish they should have stayed in Mexico.

What about Cannibals? It’s their culture to eat you. Does that make it ok?

There are some Mexicans who wave their flag in America and run across a baseball field to attract attention. Try doing that in Mexico with an American flag and you’ll get severe punishment. I once complained to a friend that most Mexicans play their music loud and don’t care about other people. He said, “that’s their culture. They have to do it.”. I said , “This is America not Mexico”. Just because it is their culture does not mean it is not rude. What about Cannibals? It’s their culture to eat you. Does that make it ok?

There are some blacks who refuse to speak good English because it sounds “White”. Actor Will Smith replied, “No, no, if you can’t speak good English don’t even talk to me”. Will Smith is part of America and enjoys success from his movies we enjoy. He is an American.

Thomas Sowell, who is also Black, wrote in his article, “Somebody eventually had to say it — and German chancellor Angela Merkel deserves credit for being the one who had the courage to say it out loud. Multiculturalism has “utterly failed.”

He further wrote, “Expecting any group to adapt their lifestyles to the cultural values of the larger society around them is “cultural imperialism” according to the multicultural cult. And living in separate neighborhoods is considered to be so terrible that there are government-financed programs to take people from high-crime slums and put them in subsidized housing in middle-class neighborhoods.”

Last September France said goodbye to the veil and the ban on the burqa marched on. I bet Brigitte Bardot was happy. Now Brigitte wants to be in charge in France I hear. You go girl! Multiculturalists are like rude people who come to your house and demand everything.

Thomas Sowell could not have said it better. “Multiculturalists condemn people’s objections to transplanting hoodlums, criminals and dysfunctional families into the midst of people who may have sacrificed for years to be able to escape from living among hoodlums, criminals and dysfunctional families”. His entire article can be read here

Arizona wants to protect itself from the border drug war. Multiculturalists like Obama say, “No, its racist to jail a Mexican. I don’t care if he killed a policeman.” Mexico deports illegals but America treats them like kings, even in prison.

Every nation should have its own identity. Unity is important. One common language. One common culture. We can still hold on to the past of our ancestors. When everyone strives for unity in a country then there is more harmony. When I lived in Japan, France, Italy, Spain and the Philippines, I embraced each culture and enjoyed where I was.

Merle Haggard once wrote, “Fightin’ Side of Me”, in his response to Communists trying to change America:

I hear people talkin’ bad,
About the way we have to live here in this country,
Harpin’ on the wars we fight,
An’ gripin’ ’bout the way things oughta be.
An’ I don’t mind ’em switchin’ sides,
An’ standin’ up for things they believe in.
When they’re runnin’ down my country, man,
They’re walkin’ on the fightin’ side of me.
Yeah, walkin’ on the fightin’ side of me.
Runnin’ down the way of life,
Our fightin’ men have fought and died to keep.
If you don’t love it, leave it:
Let this song I’m singin’ be a warnin’.
If you’re runnin’ down my country, man,
You’re walkin’ on the fightin’ side of me.

His song could be sung by anybody in any country. Everyone has a right to feel that way about their country. So integrate into the society you are in. As St. Ambrose said, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”.
